Okay Folks, here they are... your new Batch File printers for your 1541 and 1581 disk drives.
Now that Jack is offering CEE on both formats, I thought it was time to upgrade the Batch printer, too.
These programs have been rewritten with ML printers, word wrap and paging.
The 1581 version will ask which batch of files you'd like to print. These will correspond to the files on disk #1 and disk #2, of the 1541 subscriptions.
Both programs are fully prompted and will advance your paper properly, even if you abort printing mid-page.
Both versions are in a "print from" format. Meaning that if you want to print just one or two articles, do it from within the COMMODORE CEE program. These programs are provided for the convenience of the folks that want to print out many or all of the articles. It's a great way to make a notebook of all the good articles by Jack vander White and of the others on his crew!
Just select the number of the article you wish to "print from" and follow the prompts. They will print one after the other. If you wish to print them ALL, just press the Spacebar at the select menu. Of course, you can quit printing at any time by pressing the "Q" key. The paper will automatically advance to the next sheet, getting you ready to continue on.
For you folks using a 1541 drive... not to worry... you will be prompted when it is time to flip that floppy!
For those of you that have to make that coffee trip or make a pitstop... any error that occurs will stop the printing. A chime will continue to sound, letting you know it's time to check things out. If it's a file access error (corrupted or missing file), you are given the option to either abort the whole thing or just skip onto the next file.
Finally, both programs will Load and Run from any drive number, from 8 and up.
